Innovative visualisation technologies are enabling researchers to communicate their research with new and broader audiences, and are encouraging publishers to reconsider how readers interact with content.

Following the outcomes of our previous event, Data Visualisation and the Future of Academic Publishing, this interactive seminar and workshop will bring together publishers, academics, journalists and technologists for a hands-on insight into the creation and use of interactive visualisations. At the end of the session, attendees will receive three months free access to Lynda Learning, to further explore the techniques demonstrated in the session.

This event is for you if:

  • You are a researcher and produce datasets that you want to visualise and publish
  • You are a publisher and want to hear what leading researchers will require in terms of data visualisation and publication
  • You are a journalist and want to hear how researchers can work with you to communicate data driven research in engaging and innovative ways
  • You work in research communications and would like to understand how mainstream media can help to promote data-intensive research
  • You are a technologist and want to experience how requirements for data visualisation are being met by academic publishers and mainstream media

Please bring your own device with you on the day. You do not need to have attended the course on Data Visualisation and the Future of Academic Publishing to attend this course. All levels of experience welcome.
