For mid to large-scale software projects, you may find the Research Software Development Network (RSDN) a useful resource that provides a job listing board available when signed in with your SSO.
There are a wealth of training courses and material available through the IT Learning Centres; covering programming, database design/access, visualisation theory and software specific workshops. These course are taught by experts from across the University and delivered hands-on in computer labs, however attendees are often encouraged to bring their own laptops.
